Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ideas for early December?

I've just booked 2 lots of return flights for 4p with Ryanair in early December. I haven't decided which one to go for yet, it also depends on a couple of mates who I booked too (I just had to at 1p per flight).

I'm looking for resort/accommodation recommendations, something that's fully open and likely to have good snow and not going to cost an arm and a leg.

Here's the dates, both long weekends, Thurs-Mon:

Memmingen, Germany, 3-7 Dec (I had in mind heading down to stay near Kappl and skiing Ischgl/Galtur, then a morning in Lermoos on the way back to the evening flight, alternatively head over to Stubai, Solden if the snow looks unreliable, what you think?)

Basel, Switzerland, 10-14 Dec (no ideas on this one as I've never skied Switzerland before)

Just looking to tap the fountain of wisdom that is snowHeads. snowHead

Memmingen to Ski Amade is about a 3 1/4 hour transfer....
It is opening party season time over that weekend so load of places will be fully open. Obertauern has a very popular German rock band playing, Schladming has a superstar DJ playing and Flachau also has its weekend bash. Lots going on if thats what you are after... oh, and there are great pistes too!

flangesax, probably want to limit the driving to 2hrs as it's only a weekend, do want to try SkiAmade in the future, will have to look out for cheap Salzburg flights for that one. Thanks

Not heading for opening party - are you joking, I'm getting enough grief from Mrs boabski about heading off with boys on 27th Feb to St Anton. Ended up booking Kappl for family trip on 2nd Jan - looking forward to both immensly
