I had to water the flower beds yesterday evening as it hasn't rained here properly for 10 days or so, apparently it may rain this weekend

Here in North Yorkshire its been a very dry Winter and Spring since Christmas with no flooding and no storms. Only recently have we had any significant rain and until last Monday the Moorland aroun here was heading for a fire watch status.
Contrary to the long range climate change scenario of wet and mild winters and dry hot summers we have now had another very dry winter, following two very wet summers.

Followed in your footsteps and "butchered" the lawn, got it done just before the hailstones!!!
We were supposed to be doing cliff training on Ramore Head tonight with Coastguard, but thankfully CG bossman just rang and it is cancelled. Good job too as BBC Norn Iron's lovely Cecilia has just warned of severe gales!!

No rain for eons and the course is in great nick....

I wish I could say the same, we have been rained on for the past few weeks and due to the courses woeful drainage I will be avoiding it until we've had some more dry weather!

It's back after a very dry October. Just had more rain in the last 20 hrs than in the whole month of October (45mm!!!!!!!!!!!), Now if only it had fell as snow we'd have over a foot!

johnboy, we had it here too, but most of it was overnight so not too bad - did have to cancel daughter's dry ski slope session though due to the high winds!
