Poster: A snowHead
|
I was looking to book my liftpass online here and I see there's a tick box for "Assurance". Can anyone tell me whether this is the much-discussed (and extremely worthwhile) "carte neige"? Ticking the box increases the price of a 6-day pass by about 15 euros which seems about right from what I've read elsewhere on the Forum.
thanks

Buy it! - Equivalent to 4-5 beers? Ski with the smugness only Carte Neige skiers enjoy, of having Chauffeur assisted removal from the slopes!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Red Leon, that looks very much like the Carre Niege (the one which gets you off the mountain without any quibbling in France, emergency treatment, and maybe repatriation if required.)
The Carte Niege is more of a 'season ticket' and might also work in places other than Europe. Not sure about its scope.

I get it too! Thoroughly recommend the hassle free Carre Neige! I'd also make enquiries via that email address to ensure that is what it is too just to make doubly sure!
Carre Neige is well worth the '4-5 beers' it costs! I would say I was walking proof but I'm not doing too much of the walking at the moment!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

DZJ1978, (off topic) If you were a bit closer to the Channel, I'd suggest applying for the right to go to France for treatment. There's some sort of system for doing that now via your Health Authority. It's free by mutual arrangement between the two countries, as far as I know... apart from the travel involved).
When you want to see a specialist in France you ring up and make the appointment. You don't even need a referral. In most cases you can get fixed up to see him/her within a week or so.

PG - That's where I got the injury! Allegedly he has only gone away for a week so it is entirely possible he's off skiing (didn't look to be the boarding type!). Hopefully by the end of the week i'll have an appointment through and if I don't then you can guarantee I'll be phoning them at 9am on Monday morning to find out how long and also find out how long for a private consultation too.

Thanks, guys
Clearly I don't know my 'carte' from my 'carre'.
However, I think the answer to my question of whether the "Assurance" on offer on the website is the much-vaunted 'get-me-off-this-bl@@dy-hill' thingy is a big fat YES. Rest assured, I'll be ticking the box shortly.
DZJ1978, Bad luck on the injury & missing specialist situation. Get well soon
