Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just got back from a tour of the Oetztal area after a long and expensive, but comfortable, rail journey between southern Austria and Darlington
Touring conditions last week were really good with new falls of snow and good powder skiing high up. The temperature was geenrally cool with Spring snow lower down. On Saturday the piste skiing at Solden was oustanding. The run back down into town was particularly fun being officially closed but 'skiable'.
Tried out a pair of new Atomic 7s - an absolute hoot, fortunately I'll be returning to my telemark skis next season which should prevent me from otherwise killing myself. Man, those carving skis sure want to go fast

Yeah more details required. I was touring in Kuehtai (just down the road form oetztal) on Saturday. I was going to go to Soelden on Sunday but it was completely fogged in. I am suprised the valley run was open, it all looked pretty green in the valley

I was in Kuehtai last Saturday. Lots of avalanche debris around (on reserviour route to Sulzkogel). On the way out (11am) there were constant avalanches popping off the high mountains, very spectacular. Forecast was 1 in morning, 2 in afternoon. I heard at least 12 in the 40min before I got over the dam and out of harms way. Luckily most were over the lake and high up.
Some of the previous avi's had reached the lake!!!
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

It was posted as closed, but I absolutely love heavy spring snow and that run was arguably one of the best Ive done all year
