 Poster: A snowHead

As a luddite, it's taken me many moons to move on to mountainbike helmet with a ducks bill welded onto it. However after a few rides, I concede that it helps keeping wind, rain and cack out of my eyes sometimes.
But why do they sell them for ski helmets? Standard lids, race protection and even full face for the burlier line I can understand, but is there any advantage at all to having the visor, other than style?

I think the visor is usefull when it's snowing, and maybe if you're wearing a goggle with a lighter lens it keeps the sun out you eyes, but i'm not sure it's a good idea if you fall in deep snow. it also makes it impossible to keep you goggles on your helmet

exactly why i didnt buy a Giro G10MX over a normal G10. I do like the look of the visor though.

It's not impossible, i've seen people pull it off but maybe they just had super slack straps. Why would having a visor make any difference in deep snow?

I use the G10mx and love it, really handy for keeping the sun out, cant put ya gogs up though....but why would you want to do that?!

the_doc, going into a gondola, bar, toilet?
el nombre, in a FALL in deep snow. it seems to me like snow might accumulate in/under the visor, so more snow will go into your goggles when you take them off to clean them.
