Just bought a pair cheapish salopettes off ebay and inside the inner layer of the legs are two inward facing hooks. Label says they are for hooking to your snowboard??
As a skier will these things be of any use? Any ideas?

They are for hooking to the laces on your board boots in order to stop the trouser legs riding up.

ski-finder, what brand are the trousers? if they're tnf, hh or any other brand that markets to both snowboarders and skiers, then they'll cater for the needs of both as much as possible in the design of their clothing.

ski-finder, well ignore the little hooks then. Or hook them to your boot clips. Or something.

I've got some of those on a pair of Burton ski pants. Whatever you do, don't by mistake get them caught inside your ski boots and then go skiing and wonder why your shins are in agony.

If they're snowboard pants, then you;ll probalby find there's no re-inforcing gaiter on the inside of the ankles, so you might wantto be careful as you could easily wear away or even slice through the material where your hard ski boots bang together. THey're not marketed as ski vs snowboard pants purely to appeal to the "right" marlet, there are differences in construction - although to be fair I don't know of any others. just the ankle gaiter thing

hook'em onto the power strap on your boots if u think they might ride up, otherwise definitely heed RachelQ, 's advice and don't get them stuck in your boot or you WILL cry!!!! then ignore them

I've caught mine down the cuff when walking to first ski lift with undone boots. Otherwise they just pop onto a buckle and act to keep the internal gaiter snugged down and the snow out.
