Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Courmayeur and Toula Glacier

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Some pics from Courmayeur on Friday. At the top about 30cm of fresh had fallen on Wednesday so conditions were really nice.

Back towards Mt Blanc

Another one of Mt Blanc

Punta Hellbroner, the access to the fantastic Toula Glacier

From Punta Hellbroner looking into the Vallee Blanche. You can just see the Aiguille du Midi up in the top left corner

A track up to the Marbree entrance. The Matterhorn behind the track in the distance

Into the couloir (dogleg right) from the Hellbroner

Toula Glacier

Courmayeur ski area from the Punta Hellbroner. The village in on the left

Courmayeur is a lovely place. Nice piste skiing on the Courmayeur side with some good off piste itineraries from the Arp. The fantastic Toula Glacier for big wide open powder slopes. And then the style of the village with antipasto in the Roma or a bottle of wine or 2 in the Cafe de la Poste for apres ski.

bobinch, fantastic pics. Courmayeur, Mt Blanc and sunshine do provide an easy subject though. Toofy Grin

Not what I wanted though, only a week back myself, and really want to be out there again. These are truly wonderful shots. snowHead

That last pic is great actuall - always wondered what the Val Veny/Zerotta elevation would look like form across the valley. Beautiful is the, all too predictable, answer.

bobinch, great stuff. Chalet in your sig looks lovely btw. Just the sort of thing my long term relocation plan calls for, only a valley or 2 further east. wink

brian, it is superb although not mine alas. The friend who had it built was rather stung by the change in the GBP -> CHF rate so I'm trying to help him get a few weeks rented out.

We actually looked at building a place in Zinal a couple of years back but it's so expensive to build and then maintain a property in Switzerland that we canned the idea Sad

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Fantastic. One of the great off piste places in Europe with an incredible Italian village to boot. Bobinch, thanks for posting the pics.

bobinch, the exchange rate has been a killer right enough. Don't think I could've afforded my own wee place at the current rate.
