Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Accommodation only chalet in Tignes?

Does anyone know of any catered chalets in Tignes (Le Lac or Val Claret) that do accommodation only deals? It would be for 8 or 9 people for one of the first three weeks of March, and ideally work out at less than £400pp.

Pete Horn, have you considered dragon lodge? i know they do half board or b&b, so they may do an accomodation only option if you contact them. they're pretty laid back, so i'm guessing unless it's a popular week, you can negotiate with them.

Most of the catered tour operators do accommodation only and simply knock 50-100 quid off their usual flight prices for self-drives.

Try Ski Olympic... I was resort manager in Tignes for them a few years ago and they have two nice little 8/9 bed chalets there. They'll probably do you a good deal if you are booking out the whole property.

Thanks for all your responses, a couple of new ones there I hadn't found before.

I feel the Tour Ops generally don't give enough discount for organising your own transport (train in this case), but I have got a promise of a half reasonable deal from one of them.

(And this is not just to bump the post but genuine thanks. Will see some of you sometime no doubt.)
