Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Can anyone help me with respects Rossignol Vipers and Rossignol Cobras?

What season are they from?

Any reviews?

What are they worth new today?

I can buy some for what I consider to be cheap and want to check first.

Thanks in advance

50p?

Actually I'm sure some people will know in more detail but got a feeling the name was chucked on a whole load of sub-bandit level skis for a number of years. In general the more badass the name, the worse the ski actually is.

I of course ski on "Total MF Armageddons" wink

Edited to remove name of unsuspecting ski vendor who while they may be dreaming about price probably shouldn't have their folly recorded for all time.

Seriously too difficult to call - the ones listed above are from a vendor living on fantasy island. Too many years and the same names applied to too many skis.

Winter Shack are selling some new Cobras on eBay for £139, their prices are usually pretty keen.

Freeze-Thawts, well at least I have skied them.... can't mind if they were cobras or vipers but they were the mid range rental skis at sierra nevada spain.... they were ok piste skis.... didn't like them as much as my rossi Z5's but they got me down the mountain fine HTH

Freeze-Thawts, the pics fatbob links to are of a straight ski, from about 14 years ago. The T-Power (which that isn't) Vipers were -the- instructor ski back in 2001, enough to revive the Viper and Cobra names sufficiently to be applied to models that were steadily downmarket after that.

I've got a nice sweatshirt with a great big Rossignol Viper motif on the back.

It is well worn, but worth a lot more than a pair of those skis!
