The Rossignol Group, which has changed hands twice in recent years and recently announced a 30% cut in its global workforce, has asked its sponsored racers to help the company financially by reducing their income. The group includes Dynastar, Lange and Look.

"We are still focusing on building the best equipment for our current and future champions. Our presence in ski racing is an absolute priority, and we fully intend to continue actively participating in the major world competitions,” said Bruno Cercley, the company's chairman. |
Is your skiing sponsored by Rossignol? Do you sponsor Rossignol?

they have also told all retailers that there will be no payment plans, [except for french resort shops] and will add additional carriage as a % of every order on anything we order.......not really the way to make people want to do business with them

To understand the significance of all this, it's worth reviewing the history of Rossignol - one of the world's oldest ski companies, which enjoyed very stable and successful ownership/management for a very long time. Strangely, Wikipedia (in English) ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skis_Rossignol
... says "When Nils Boix Vives bought the company in 1956 ..." I've never seen that first name before. Wikipedia (in French) ...
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skis_Rossignol
... says "Laurent Boix-Vives reprend l’entreprise en 1956 ..."
That rings true. Laurent Boix-Vives and Georges Salomon were, for two or three decades, the most fearsome powers in the ski industry. They progressively wiped out the Austrian ski hardware manufacturers.

P.S. I'm pretty sure there's another error in that Wikipedia entry.

In 1964 Rossignol released the Strato, the first fiberglass ski. |
My understanding has always been that Kneissl first manufactured a fibreglass ski, a couple of years earlier than that: the White Star.

P.S. The Vermont Ski Museum seems to go with that:
