Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

After supplying countless Snowheads with bargain skis for the last few years, Ski Bilek seem to have called it a day.
Anyone know the story?

Dunno, but just realised their bike shop is only a few stops on the tram from work. Ski store is in the next town after that. Looks like some kind of warehouse clearance sale (on a working day, so I can't get along).

I was wondering about that too - maybe their suppliers thought that too many cheap skis were going out through them and ruining their market for other retailers?

Some of the stuff I bought off them was so cheap its difficult to see how there was any margin left. Maybe they just couldnt turn a profit with that business model?

Pity 'cos over the past couple of years I've bought five sets of skis for various family members at really good prices. I suppose it was too good to last (and I'm sure that a number of retailers won't be too sorry to see them disappear).
If your are in the area, it looks like they are having a closing down sale on 28/29 April, so maybe there are still bargains to be had
