Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Off piste courses

Eurgh...annoying. Piste to Powder don't seem to have any course on week of 5-11 April.
I'm kind of travelling at difficult times probably arriving on a Monday so not being able to ski until Tuesday.
Know anyone who does day courses?
I could try Alpine Experience but they only do half days rather than full days, which are probably better for learning off piste?

GordonFreeman, where are you going? From a quick check Piste to Powder are St Anton and Alpine Experience Val d'Isere Puzzled

If you're only after a 1 day course you can walk into the office of any of the snowHead recommended ski schools and book a private lesson for as long as like. Down side is it will get a bit expensive if its just you. E-mail them and see what they've got going on, they may have a suitable group you can join.

I would tend to go for a full day rather than half but it depends really on fitness and experience. It is extremely tiring so if your fitness level isn't great go for two 1/2 days.

I haven't worked out where I'm going yet Smile ANywhere, depending upon the availability?
Ski schools might work out a bit more expensive than these group companies but I could try. My, probably prejudiced opinion, is that not many people go for off piste group lessons with ski chools, just on piste stuff.

GordonFreeman, esf do a full day off piste every thursday/friday with a maximum group of 8 people for 45 euros! in La plagne, not sure if this would be the same in val d'isere ?? maybe its worth a mail to the local esf school.

GordonFreeman, that really depends on the ski school and the location. If you pick resorts which have a big off piste reputation then they will run specific off piste classes.
