Just got back yesterday from the Grand Massif, arrived Monday 23 March, had 20 CM of fresh snow overnight, and then 2-3 cm on Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday was glorious, not too crowded. On Tuesday we did bail out about 2.30pm as the visibility was pretty poor and still snowing and headed for the Lou Caboens, at plateau des Saix for lunch, can recommend their burger. The snow conditions for the rest of the week were fantastic, virtually no ice or people, snow was getting a bit slushy at Morillon, were the bubble comes in. Flaine was great on Thursday, was one of the first to go down Lucifer. Should hold up well for Easter.
We stayed in Sixt at www.sixtalpinechalet.com if your thinking of doing a short break they are flexible and do airport transfers as well as run you to Samoens or Morillion depending on the wind at the top.

I was away that same week. Had one of my best ever powder mornings on Tuesday - just up and down the Gron lift in the Les Carroz bowl then picked various routes through the trees back down.
