Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Click for full res image - the snow continues to fall....- And 24 hours on, the snow continues to come down, 15 cms overnight and plenty more on its way this morning, by the look of it.

It should abate slightly as Sunday progresses, then several days of sunshine with a rare snow shower are expected, accompanied by a blast of Arctic cold (between -15°C and -20°C at 2000m in the Tarentaise Valley).

It's still coming down, hard. Roads are completely paralysed in places. Going to try to drive to the funicular soon to get up to Arc 1600 - not skiing today, but I'll try to get some photos of conditions on piste.

It's not out of choice, I can assure you!

When we arrived the conditions were reasonable (better at Val Thorens), but the upper slopes were poor so on the Monday we phoned home and asked our 2 year old son to do a snow dance. From Tuesday onwards we skied in white-out conditions most of the time, so spent most of it beneath the tree line over at Courchavel and La Tania. Great ski-ing, but we didn't get to ski the upper slopes and felt we missed out a bit.

So those of you who are now up to your necks in the white stuff have my lad to thank. All donations towards my next trip will be warmly received if you wish to show your gratitude. Bank account details are available on request.

skibandit, there's been too much snow at Geneva Airport. None of our guests have made it, looks as if most flights from/to the UK have been cancelled.

skibandit, we are happy to extend our hospitality to any snowHead but I think my daughter would draw the line somewhere before it got to free.

The snow's stopped now. Snow showers forecast on and off all week, with the coldest temperatures around Wednesday, 0°C at 0 metres, as low as -20°C at 2,000m, rising again next Friday/Saturday as another front passes over (another big dump is forecast at present for next weekend, although 7 days away it can easily change)...

What ?

Said on the radio today that flights to the East coast of America were being cancelled due to blizzards.

Still it is easier to fix that problem than an absence of snow.

PG, how do you add a pic that size rather than the full blown article? I'm a bit of a PC dimwit, so keep any answer simple!

The easiest way to do this is to copy the html code in the quote box below, pasting in your own information for the image you want to include. Make sure when you post to snowHeads that the "disable html" box isn't checked.

"a target" is the location of the actual photo, real size. You should copy post the image url (http: etc) in place of the one in my code.

IMG SRC is the image you actually want to appear, small size, in snowHeads. In my example it is a different address because I had two different sizes of the same image on my website. However you can repost the same address as in "a target". It would then be made smaller because...

"WIDTH" decides the size you want your image to be on snowHeads. In my case the width was fixed at 120 (pixels)

"align" allows you to position your image either to the right of the text (as in my example), or to the left (replace "right" by "left", obviously.)

border = 0 means there is no border around the image. 1 is the minimum width border, 2 thicker, etc.

"ALT=" allows you to enter a text message that will appear (on some but not all browers) when you 'mouseover' the image.

Quote:
<a target="_blank" HREF="http://www.mybigimage.jpg"><IMG SRC="http://mylittleimage.jpg" align="RIGHT" WIDTH="120" BORDER = "0" ALT="the text you want to appear on mouseover"></A>

Hope that's understandable!
