Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Freeride/All Mountains For a 14yo.

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
My 14yo son has done plenty of skiing since he started at age 7 inc. race training etc, etc. He can genuinely ski anything. He is 5'7", 9 stone-ish and currently on 168cm Volkl Dogens with centrally mounted bindings. The Dogens are essentailly park skis, he loves them, has trashed the topsheets, so I'm happy to hang on to them. However, he's now vearing more towards all mountain and powder skiing. I'm looking for advice on an all mountain twin tip that will throw carved turns on hardpack. I've spent a fair bit on race training and don't want to see those skills fade. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would definately go for 168cm K2 Extremes (used to be called Public Enemy). I have a 16 year old lad who is now skiing powder/backcountry on these. The Extremes have a fat enough waist to ski through anything + are also twin tip, so are great in the park and in addition are perfect on piste. . The kids also love them - given their K2 street cred.

I confess I also have a pair of them with marker baron touring bindings - and swear by them as the perfect all mountain ski
