chamonix guides any tips

Weekend in chamonix 17--20 feb anyone got any tips for a good guide/ company for a group of 5 fairly adventurous skiers, experienced on all pistes ,unexperienced but willing off piste.
How much should you expect to pay per day . Any tips would be appreciated.

hedley, I've been looking into this a little as I am planning a trip later. Here you can find a list of guides for Chamonix. I have no personal recommendations though.

Not good enough to hire a guide myself but I would think the Chamonix tourist centre (inside the town centre) and the ticket office at the chairlift up the Aiguille du Midi should have the information for getting a guide to do the Vallee Blanc. It is weather dependent and may not necessary fit in with the window specified by you. 17-20 Feb is also the peak season and it may be difficult to book a guide unless you have a local connection.

The skiing resorts spreading around the Chamonix valley do not need a guide unless you are interested in off piste only. The Grands Montets and La Flegere/ Le Brevent are fairly steep but the majority of the piste are suitable to skiers who manage the red slopes. The difference is most red slopes do not have flat bits to rest. Haven't done all the black slopes myself but for the experts they are the real things.

Le Tour Col De Balme, Les Planards, Les Bossons and Le Houches are quite harmless. The last one is outside the Chamonix ski pass
