When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Norway's biathlete Ole Einar Bjorndalen won his 87th World Cup gold medal last week, which beats the record of Swedish slalom skier Ingemar Stenmark, set in the 1970s and 1980s, who won 86 World Cup gold medals. He also won a fourth gold in the men's relay. Just brilliant. In his other two events (mass start and mixed relay) he was fourth.

Unfortunately for Svensson, he was ill and could not compete in the Sprint, Pursuit and Individual events, but had some consolation in being part of the relay winning Norway men's team.

Ole Einer may even compete until the 2014 Olympics, so I would not bet against him reaching 100 World Cup/World Championship/Olympic gold medals.
