Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I am headed out to Cortina for 7 days on Feb 5th.
I have been reading that Cortina is the "Aspen" of Italy where everyone goes to been seen and has the best skis but cant actually tell you brand/model of their skis. I am an advanced skier that wants to find some serious off-piste skiing and wondering if anyone knows where I can find it at Cortina?

tahoe921, welcome to snowHeads. It's a long time since I was last in Cortina and I don't recall too much serious off-piste. Lots of serious promenading in the evening and a lovely old town with some stunning scenary, the Dolomites are beautiful but it wouldn't be high on my list for off-piste. Have you contacted the tourist office for a list of guides?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Try looking for a guide on the site as well.

As James says Cortina does not have that much in the way of off-piste, but the dolomiti bus will take you to places nearby that have good off-piste like Lagazoi for example. If you are interested I can give you more details of the surrounding area and the contact details of some guides.
