Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Does anyone know how easy it is to get from Megeve to Chamonix and back? The bus seems to run once a day, I don't know about trains nor how much taxis charge.
Any info would be good.
Cheers
Marc

Pain in the a$$.
Train to Le Fayet or Sallanches (fairly regular) then taxi (cost a fortune - about 30 euros each way?) though there may be buses from Sallanches to Megeve.
If you are doing it in a day you might be better off hiring a car and driving yourself.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

, that's very kind.
Best for me would be leaving Megeve late afternoon on Thursday 12th March, and returning later that evening.
Is there anything doing?
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

, says really. But pain in the a$$ is an understatement!
Getting over there is doable a bit later than the 'direct' bus but not sure its' worth the aggro as you're looking at over 2hrs, which is ridiculous! I suspect a hire car will end up being the best option, at least much less frustrating!
Nothing connects to anywhere after the single bus back. You can get to Sallanches via Le Fayet on the 18.39 or 19.39 train out of Chamonix (hardly a night on the town, is it!) but it's a taxi after that from either station. (The last bus from Sallanches to Megeve is 19.10)
Sorry. Not really what you wanted to hear, is it.
