Poster: A snowHead

Further to my previous posting regarding buying a Warren Smith book with DVD to see if I can pick up any tips to improve my technique, do you think that, the more you think about skiing, the more you complicate things.
This is my previous posting:

What I am trying to say is: are you better just to go and do it rather than think about it?!

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

jb1970, I think it depends what type of learner you are, so it's impossible for us to answer that question for you personally. You may learn by copying, detailed explanation etc. So thinking about it may help some people, but not others.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

beanie1, That's true. However, do you think that, with skiing if you over analyse things or think about things too hard, it can become more difficult?

You need to Login to know who's really who.

jb1970, yes, I think even for people who like lots of detailed technical explanation there will be a level at which it becomes too complicated. Not least of all because what you are told by different people will get more and more contradictory. Which is a bit why I avoid many of the technical discussions that take place in the BZK section of this forum!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

yes, by definition, if you think "too" hard. However, not thinking at all is hardly the answer either. the Warren Smith DVDs are not "technical" at all - just showing you some good stuff to do. They're about doing, not thinking. Get one; what have you got to lose?
