Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bode Miller may retire before Winter Olympics 2010

Bode Miller has said in an interview with universalsports.com today that he would probably retire before the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. Wasn't there some talk like this a couple of years ago? Like woody911, I think Bode is amazing to watch (although not if you're trying to learn from him!) and he's the reason our son took up skiing in the first place (the poster of him takes pride of place above his bed and now, even though he's only just turned 9, he races with a similar 'throw everything you've got into it' kind of attitude - his coach is gradually starting to drum the importance of techinique into him!).

If Bode does retire, we'll miss the excitement of watching him, but given his recent form and apparent lack of interest, it wouldn't be a complete surprise. Might be good to watch him in Skier Cross, though - saw Daron Rahlves win a few weeks ago and it's always fun to watch....
