Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Body Armour/Ski Protection

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Having gotten bruised recently from gates when racing I was looking at purchasing upper body protection.

POC do an expensive full jaclet with arms/back and shoulders. Dainese cycle kit does similar protection cheaper. Or as an alternative Dainese do a slalom jacket which is similarly priced but without the back protector.

In short who wears what and how comfy is it?

POC is great for rigid armour, or Spyder do a Slalom Vest with D3O protection for the shoulders and arms. None of it cheap however.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

cforcat, I wear the Dainese slalom jacket and impact shorts for doing slalom and it's pretty comfy, however not cheap! Tho I did get the shorts in snow and rock sale last year for £30 Very Happy I don't mind the lack of back protector but obviously some people prefer to have one, so I guess that's up to you personally Very Happy

cforcat, I've heard that this stuff is the business - low profile, re-useable (unlike some hard shells after major impact), breathable, light and British! Gets very good reviews..

Which jacket did you get? The padded or soft padded one?

Following from above if you are interested, I think this is the cheapest retailer - as supplied to the GB Snowboard and Ski teams...

In response the above quite like the look of the Forcefield top, however the Energiapura Maglia looks like it fits the bill and is £40 cheaper.

Anyone used/seen the Energiapura kit?

cforcat, not sure whether you have a preference for hard shell of soft armour, but good value stuff is here. Our son uses the 'Brand X' jacket for ski racing and we're really pleased with it.
