In my boredom I thought I would create this thread.
Where you off this forecoming season?
and
Why are you going there?
I'll start, it makes sense.
Serre Chevalier for Christmas week.
Going there for size of area, thermal baths and an area I know well.

We're trying Resort X at half term, because so may on here say how good it is. May have a long weekend in Meirigen or Les Gets or both or neither if my son races there. Hope to have to go to Munich for work and have a sneaky w/e, probably in Kitzbuhel. Might fit in another w/e somewhere. Vaguely thinking about Xmas, but that probably won't happen.

richmond, I give up, WTF is Resort X.

Zermatt because I've always wanted to and it's pretty and posh and there's a train instead of a gondola.
Morzine because it's cheap and somebody else booked it for me, although there won't be any snow.
Valloire (Valmeinier actually) because it's half term and fractionally less likely to be horrifically jam packed than other French places. We hope.
Maybe a Scotland trip Easter-ish, depending on weather and the price of oil and all that.

JP, Resort X is the perfect resort. La Rosiere of course, the place which has:
no wind
perfect snow
great nightlife and for families
great food
perfect lift system - no drag lifts
Well thats the picture that has often been potrayed on this forum.

JP, it'sMegamum's secret hideaway. She didn't want to tell anyone in case she was attacked by a killer chairlift or something.
It's alternatively spelled Moerlialp.

So far only booked Austria in March with our usual crowd, but will also be going in January at some point, Austria again, and possibly try and sneak a late season holiday this year if funds allow.
Having said that, snow permitting, we may be making a couple of trips up to Scotland if we can fit it in.

Just Val D'Isere (and a day at La Plagne tacked on the beginning) for me this year. I need to save my holiday for my honeymoon in summer. Still trying to persuade her that Chile or New Zealand would be great for a honeymoon.

Shall be mostly in the bar, with occasional forays into the general Tarentaise region - Les Arcs, La Rosiere, Ste Foy, Tignes, Val d'Isere.....well, at least in December, January, March and maybe April....

Cut back on my original plans for 4 weeks to save some dosh due to excessive spending over the Summer. Tignes for the Boot Camp Weekend in December, Zermatt at half term and Les Deux Alpes (inc probably a day or two in Alpe D'Huez) for 10 days over Easter. Must resist the temptation for more.

That's a bit harsh, I don't think you should criticise Christopher for missing so many of the other attributes of this resort......

mark_s, only three. You didn't take up the challenge with much vigour...
As for me. I have no idea at the moment, but probably something like:
I'll do my usual pre-Xmas trip to Whistler and will do a course when out there.
RN Ski Champs (Les Menuires) January
Hopefully B'day Bash
Week of Instructing (Aosta Valley) February
EoSB (Val T) April

we're going to La Rosiere for New Year
Why? - we wanted to try a resort we hadn't been to before that is accessible by direct Eurostar. (have already been to most of the others - la plagne, 3 valleys, valmorel, les arcs). The creche is meant to be good. It is high enough to be fairly snow sure. Hopefully good for intermediates. Thought it would be fun to ski to Italy. Found nice luxury appartment with swimming pool..the latter might be useful with young children who will not have the energy to ski all day.

Flumserberg for Christmas and New Year but with visits to lots of local resorts nearby planned some days, Morzine mid Jan with Snow and Trek if I can (they don't know yet), Flumserberg for half term. EOSB if its not in VT. Much as I like VT I like my mountains with a bit more wood 'n tree's.

I'm doing resort X in February 1/2 term - richmond, which resort X? I think this will be my last year there now that my skiing has grown up to the standard of my kids. We all need somewhere with more meat.
After that I don't really know if I'll get a second week or not. If I'm allowed to abandon the kids with my mum then you might see me in VT (Big MIGHT - currently very poor odds ) If I'm not allowed to abandon the kids I'll have to see how broke I am and whether I can afford another week away with all of us over Easter. I'd be looking for something likely to have snow that late, with self catered accomodation that I could do on a shoestring budget (I always wince at the cost of the lift passes - its the last thing you seem to buy and there is always an 'ouch' factor). La Tania (haven't looked to see where it is yet) has been suggested as an option, I'd like for the kids and us to Easiski but don't know if any potential budget would run to the luxury of her in LDA.
