Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

And the accident referred to in the last line of the report is terrible too.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

From the short report it appears that the skier was skiing responsibly, equipped with a transceiver and in the relative safety of trees but got separated from his companion.
It was unfortunate that he was caught in an avalanche.
With the huge amounts of snow that have fallen over the last few weeks it is essential that we take more care in where we ski.

If they were skiing inbounds in North America they were certainly not skiing in any way irresponsibly with regards to Avalanche conditions, just tragically unlucky.

Apparently the place they were skiing was also pretty tracked out.

That's terrible...having worked in Squaw that is very very unusual, however they have had naff all snow and then 100 inches in a very short space of time. Still very bad luck... Was it KT22? The US not having a good year for this....
