When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

In the Alpine Word Cup season's fourth giant slalom, Daniel Albrecht (Switzerland) had his second win of the season in Alta Badia (Italy) on Sunday. Ivica Kostelic of Croatia came second and Austrian Hannes Reichelt, third. Today, in the slalom, Kostelic came first, followed by Jeane-Baptiste Grange (France) and Benjamin Raich (Austria)....In the Val Gardena super G in Italy on Friday, Werner Heel of Italy was first, followed by Didier Defago (Switzerland) and Patrik Jaerbyn (Sweden). In the downhill on Saturday, Michael Walchhofer Austria) repeated his win from last season. Bode Miller (USA) was second and Manuel Osborne-Paradis (Canada), third.

In the women’s Alpine World Cup in St. Moritz (Switzerland), on Friday, Anja Paerson (Sweden) was first in the super combined, followed by Nicole Hosp (Austria) and Fabienne Suter (Switzerland). Lara Gut of Switzerland won the super-G on Saturday. It was her first World Cup victory. Teammate Fabienne Suter was second and Italy's Nadia Fanchini was third. On Sunday, the downhill had to be cancelled due to strong winds.

Zoe Gillings (Great Britain) came sixth in the snowboardcross World Cup race in Arosa (Switzerland) on Saturday.

Laura Gut is 17 I believe. Outstanding talent - possibly the youngest winner on the lady's tour? I think Renate Götschl was just shy of 18 when she had her first win.
