Does it rhyme with bang?
Does it rhyme with tangy?
Is it like the first syllable of lingerie?
(Serious question, I own a pair of Lange skiboots and I don't know what to call them).

I've often wondered that, too. Not that I have Lange boots - I only buy ones I can pronounce. Lange was an American, wasn't he?

queen bodecia, surely if Lange were pronounced in a German way it would rhyme with shlange and wouldn't have either a long "a" nor a hard "g"?

Indeed, I don't think I described it right, I meant g as in 'ringer' not 'danger' got my hards and softs mixed up. I can speak the lingo I'm just rubbish at phonetics...

Bode Miller recently said he had switched back to LANG (as in bang) boots - if it's good enough for Bode it's good enough for me. I've often heared them referred to as LANG in shops which stock them, never any of the other suggestions. Call them what you want though, personally I prefer my Salmon's.

How many of those rhyme with "bang"? Why are Americans so, well, American?

But what language would "flange" accord with? I bought a pair of Lange boots in a charity shop for £5. They turned out to fit one of my nephews a treat, one holiday (he was that age when a lad's feet grow two sizes during a week's holiday). He really liked them. Then they went in the bin, not owing me a penny.

Its definitely Lang as in Bang well at least that's what a fellow I know who sells them in his shop calls them. As for Raichle, I thought they were pronounced "Reishler". Whatever, they were weird looking things.

Say 'For Auld Lang Syne', then leave away the first two words and the fourth word and add an 'e' to the remainder. Easy

Again, look to the scots for guidance! the 'ch' is pronounced the same way as the 'ch' in Och.

Steilhang, yes, I'd have pronounced it like Reishler but with the "ch" as in Loch. Assuming it was German.
