Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just got a phonecall from a friend offering me a week in chamonix going next sunday.Flights and self catering £200 transfers lift passes equipment hire food and drink still to pay for.I really want to go but cash is tight and i am going to andorra with the family 4th January.What is a realistic budjet for this trip as i want to enjoy the apres with the lads and not sit in the apartment with a bottle of wine.

doghead, beer 4.5-6 euro, you can get a cheap dinner for 8 euro. It quite possible to get completly off your face for 20 with tactical use of the happy hours.

doghead, jbob's right. Happy hour in Bard'up is two for one. Even at €5 each...that's not bad. If you must eat out then loads of good cheap options. On a budget though better with pasta and tomato sauce. TAKE SANDWICHES UP THE MOUNTAIN! Even though CMB promise better things this year the mountain restaurants are excruciatingly expensive and poor value for money.

Not going now.Talked the wife round phoned my mate feeling dead excited only to be told that the dropout had a row with his girlfriend (who was the reason he was going to stay at home)and was now going on the trip.The highs and lows of life eh.Tonight will be a night of drinking.
