Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

ste, ... this area is just awesome and has some really beautiful off-piste ...

.... but it can be a fairly dangerous place. If you are new to the area, I would suggest a guide is essential to get a safe overview.

When do expect to be there .. ?

.... but again - don't follow this route blind ... there's a lot of slab around here and it can change on a daily basis.

I can recomend a good guide if you need one.

Have fun .... snowHead

I run a chalet in Sainte Foy. The run you're talking about is the North Face of le Fogliettaz:

To ride this requires a hike of about 45mins from the top of the lifts up to the summit of the Fogliettaz. The north face is pretty steep and there are a limited number of safe points to drop in. There are cliff bands to be avoided on the way down. Best to go with someone with local knowledge! You eventually ride out to the village of La Masure where you can get a free bus back to the resort (although there are only 2 or 3 per day). You can also ride down this way via the run known as the Col Granier.

We've got some Sainte Foy off-piste ideas on our site.

stevomcd, I heard they may be having more buses making the round trip to La Masure this season. Do you know if that is true?

stevomcd, Couloir Dudu is way back beyond the Fogliettaz, keep going past the Col Argentiere and its on the peak there that drops down to the refuge. If you have the access to the Vamos Tarentaise ski Touring book its in that.
