When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Innsbruck and Kuopio compete to host first Winter Youth Olympics

Innsbruck (Austria) and Kuopio (Finland) are to be the finalists in the race to host the first Winter Youth Olympics in 2012. The short list was announced by the International Olympic Committee on Monday. The other two candidates, Harbin (China) and Lillehammer (Norway) failed to make the grade....The host city will be announced by IOC President Jacques Rogge in a live web cast on www.olympic.org, provisionally scheduled for 12 December 2008.

Oh, that was new to me even though I'm a Finn living in Finland Smile It's pretty interesting because Kuopio is almost flat compared to Innsbruck. Not too high mountains here in Finland..
