Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi, it's the grafter here, i'm new to this site,could anyone tell me what Zell am See is like as i am going there on the 7th of March. Puzzled

I haven't been there but you might want to do a search as I'm sure it's been covered in other threads. Click Forum Search at the top left of the page and enter resort name in the search field.

It's very good skiing for beginners and intermediates as the pass covers the Kitzsteinhorn glacier and Maiskogel in Kaprun, buses included on the ski pass. Some nice blacks down to Zell but not hugely challenging. piste maps

Also worth visiting Saalbach-Hinterglemm for the day for a bit of variety, 20 mins on the bus, again lots of excellent skiing for beginners and intermediates, plus a few more challenging runs, try piste 14 Zwolferkogel Nordabfahrt or piste 15 Weltcup Abfahrt at Hinterglemm - great fun Toofy Grin piste map

If you plan to do this, it's worth checking out the Ski Alpin pass, which covers all these resorts. snowHead

Thanks for that Renry, it was very informative, looking forward to going evan more now.Stayed in Val di Fassa this year and did the Sella Rhonda including blacks will I cope with all that Zell am See and Saalbach can throw at me. Laughing
