Poster: A snowHead

Are there any places (within, say, a 2 hour drive of Brizzle) where I can hire skis for a week. I'm gagging to try a pair of AC4s in January but I can't guarantee the shops in the small village we're going to will have any...

Sharkymark, Edge2Edge - near Gatwick - do it. You might be able to fly from Brizzle to Gatwick in under 2 hours, but I'm not sure about driving it...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Wear The Fox Hat, I had the same thought and checked out their web site but Sharkymark will be disappointed as they don't have any AC4s

sharkymark, There's Sound Ski on the south coast somewhere (Plymouth or Portsmouth?) who rent out Volkls.

Edge to Edge deliver and collect skis from the airport you're flying from, though you'll need to get the bindings checked elsewhere.

Sharkymark,
In the first instance why not contact the tourist office get a list of hire shops and contact them. It will probably be cheaper and easier with transport costs and then you can compare them with other skis from the shop.

Was just looking for skis on web and came across edge2edge website which I'd forgotten about. With €/£ the way it is I think £70/wk £105/fortnight is pretty good value and they're doing some very good skis in their freeride/all mountain rental range. I haven't hired for years (except for odd days and weekends) and anyway will usually fly out of stansted or luton which they don't serve, but this year will be going from Heathrow for the main event and will be considering their services.
