Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hotel Edelweiss, Kitzbuhel

Does anyone know if there is a web-site for this hotel? I can find several other "Eidelweiss" hotels but not the one in Kitzbuhel.

I am trying to book single or triple room via Thomsonski web-site but they only offer twin rooms online for my dates, so I want to contact hotel direct.

Many thanks for any info.

Thanks DB, I did see that site but thought it was just a booking agency. I now see that the contact details are there, so have tried to make contact. Many thanks again!

Lorenzo, I'm pretty sure that you can walk on a path alongside the railway line to get from the hotel to the Hahnenkammbahn, so it's closer than it looks on the map on Tiscali. There are fancy new lockers at the bottom of the the H'bahn in which you can leave your kit o/n (with warm air glove and boot driers!).

richmond, that's good news - I hate keeping skis and boots longer than is absolutely necessary. Some of my pals have been known to dance the night away in their boots!

Now booked for this trip - group of 6 guys mid January. 3 of us from Scotland, and 3 guys from England we met in Verbier about six years ago, so a bit of a reunion trip. Looks like a nice place to go in every respect.

You can. Walk out of the garden gate, down the side of the railway track, through the car park and you are at the Hahnenkhambahn. Takes about five minutes. Incidentally. the car park is the one where Bode Miller parks his motorhome during race week. I stayed in the Edelweiss last year. It takes a lot of Thomson guests but we booked independently. Got a good deal - £500 breakfast, evening meal and takeaway lunches plus lift pass. The owners are called Klaus and Veronica and are really nice people. Klaus' english is excellent and he gave me a really interesting insight into the events of the Hahnenkham race weekend. Also told me of a guest who stays there every year - he drinks four brandies every morning then goes and gets his wife up for breakfast and, I kid you not, he's a doctor!!!

If you need to hire equipment do not go to the shop directly oposite the lift station on the other side of the road - its a complete rip off.

Lorenzo, I like Kitzbuhel a lot. The sking is not in general fantastically demanding, although oddly it does have one very steep bit of black, 70%, but mostly it's pleasant reds and blues with a few blacks thrown in, mostly pretty easy tbh, plenty of trees, plenty of pubs and good grub by the piste, some decent off piste when the conditions are right (nothing at all like Verbier, obviously). The town centre is attractive, some jolly boozers and a good choice of restaurants if you're not hb.

I'd agree with richmond, not really sure why we do like it but it seems to draw us back each year Toofy Grin For us it is our cheap holiday as we stay B&B and eat cheaply in town, with the odd nice meal as well. Nice skiing with some lovely mountain restaurants and a nice town Very Happy
