Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

looking at maybe Warren Smith SA first week Jan, but looked at the snow history for verbier and its scarily rubbish. Seems you can get away with it if you are off piste, but most of the time i wont be - anyone been there over a few years so have a feel for the reality?
cheers

bitoffluff, in the last 6 years January has been fairly dry for snowfall. However by January the whole resort is skiable. January is the perfect time to be doing a W(a)SSA course, even if the snow is "less than average" you're doing drills all day anyway. You don't want to be doing a course like this in Feb or March when you can be putting your new skills to test in lovely deep snow.

To me, the course is a good mix of tuition and guiding.

I've joined the first week in Jan course with Wozza for the last three years. Last year we were putting fresh tracks down the front and back faces of Mt Gele, Stairway and Highway so don't worry about doing drills all day. If you don't know Verbier very well then it's an excellent intro to some of the more interesting terrain. Early season snow can be a bit sketchy, but you'll be fine on the course
