Poster: A snowHead

Forecasters are predicting stormy weather in the run-up to Christmas, and widespread snow on Christmas Day itself. Much of Scotland, Northern Ireland, north-west England and Wales are likely to see a white Christmas, “but anywhere could see snow on the big day itself”, the Met Office says. It's reckoned that this could be the snowiest Christmas since 1995.
This report from The Scotsman.
So dust off your digital cameras, snowHeads, because we're going to celebrate Christmas in a special way. Read on.

Here's one man who won't be sending us a snow photo.
Maybe he'll send us a hurricane!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It is interesting that if you ask the net (Google) when was the last Official white christmas in London you get a wide variety of dates.
Michael Fish gives 1970, but other sites suggest 2001, 1997 , 1999 , 1979 , 2000 , and so on, indeed I reckon if I looked long enough I could get a site to claim every year has been white!
Just goes to show: don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Jonpim, I guess it depends on the definition of 'white'. My kids seem to reckon they've happened in Surrey in their lifetimes, but I think they must count the merest flake. I wouldn't regard a Christmas as white unless the lawn was covered for most of the day. On that basis, I don't reckon it's happened in SE England since I were a lad!
