Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Morzine - Suitable for young group?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Would Morzine be suitable for a group of 16, age ranging from 24 to 35 or so.
The skiing from there would be great, but is there much in the way of night life?

Yes.

That size of group will make their own nightlife! Will probably take over a corner of a bar and have great craic!!

Yeah, would make our own craic to a certain extent, but is there many bars etc in it?
I've just read that its a fairly quiet resort. We were in Livigno last year and it was fairly lively to trying to get some sort of comparison.

France on the whole does not have the same nightlife as Livigno, maybe with the exception of Val D'Isere! Val D'Isere would be a good choice for your group but a little more expensive than Livigno.

The skiing however in Morzine and the PdS would be far better than Livingno, which IMO is probably one of the worst resorts that I have been to. If the skiing is not the most important factor but nightlife is I would go to an Austrian resort, nightlife there is certainly better than most places in France.

St Anton, Ischgl, Solden, Soll, Kitzbuhel would be great for a fun loving group. Have you thought about these places?

That said you know that the lads will make their own fun if you decide on Morzine!!! The skiing is much better than Livigno. So many people from the south love Livigno for some reason I have tried to steer them to other places but they love it for some reason. Duty free alcohol possibly wink

Cheers. Just trying to please everyone in the group. For me the skiing is the main thing, and Morzine would be grand but more of the group like the socialising/night life as much as the skiing.
Much more skiing there, been to Livigno twice and enjoyed it both times. Probably liked as it is much cheaper than some french resorts. Been to LEs 2 Alpes and Alpe d'Huez and both great resorts but some ones said that Alpe d'Huez was expesive when there.
Will check out some Austrian options.

Yep watching the game myself. Was down in Croker last week when Antrim finally got some silverware with the TM Cup.

MhicEasmuint, there are certainly enough good bars that you wouldn't need to drink in the same place twice in a week. A quick mental tally gets me to 10 bars - excluding ones in hotels.

Lots of good restaurants.

Two nightclubs.

Book. You'll have a ball.

I went to Morzine for a long weekend with about 15 colleagues, group aged 23 - to about 55ish! We had a great time, there are plenty of good bars and a couple of clubs full of young ish people (by this I mean 20s/30s not teenagers, but I'm sure that's what you want anyway!)

There's your answer! Let me know when you are going as we may be up above that week! Skiing is far superior!

Close match, looking dicey for a while! Shocked

We normally get over for the week around 25th Jan. Though this year the lads holiday may well be somewhere else. Will let you know if we are going to Avoriaz! We may be able to meet up for a pint!

Yeah you'll have a ball. We were a mixed group (early 20's- late 30's) and had a blast.

Cheers, sounds good enough.
I had said Morzine and some others had read reports on the internet that it was was more a family/older orientated resort and were abit concerned about that.

My mate has been loads of times and loves it, especially the nightlife. He's mid twenties and "cool" unlike me... I am sure you will have a brilliant time!
