Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

At the top of the No 32 chair lift - on the Tiefenbach Glacier
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It's between the two glaciers and I doubt it shuts while the glacier is open - will certainly be open in March. You take the Schwarze Schneid II cable car (9) over the Rettenbach glacier and then follow the directions down to the tunnel. The tunnel has a slight gradient but if you're a boarder I'd advise making sure you've got a bit of momentum as the tunnel is fairly long. The drop down onto blue 38 on the Tiefenbach glacier is great.
The Tiefenbach glacier (far left as you look at the piste map) is the sunnier of the two glaciers and gets more busy as the day goes on (it's the furthest part of the ski area by lift). I'd always aim to get there earlier than the hordes then move back to the Rettenbach glacier in the afternoon as it is generally much emptier. This is the glacier that hosts some of the first World Cup races of the season.

Many thanks.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If you double click on this piste map a couple of times to enlarge, it can be seen at the top of run 32 (top left hand side).

Don't get too excited about it, it really isn't that much to write home about. it's just a big hole in the rock that gets you from A to B.....fun resort if you haven't been before, cracking apres going on, where else could you expect to see Dr Alban live!?
