Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Austria has best season ever with over 10 million visitors

For the first time, Austria had more than 10 million winter vistors from abroad. Nearly half a million of these came from Great Britain. It was, apparently, the best winter season Austria had even seen, helped by excellent snow throughout the season, and represented an increase of 2.7% compared to the year before.

According to pisteHors, 2007-2008 was also a great year for French ski resorts, which had a record turnover of 1.2 billion euros. This was more than 20% up on 2007.
