Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi
New member here!
I am travelling to Luxembourg this weekend and was hoping to buy some ski's in the local Intersport or similar.
Has anyone bought ski's in France/Belgium/Lux apart from in ski resorts
and what are the prices like compared to the UK.
Any advice please

Andy1, welcome to snowheads. I don't know about buying skis in Luxembourg but I know it's a duty free zone for fuel, booze and ciggies so that may extend to skis. Buying skis in France is usually cheaper than the UK especially in one of the big depots like Decathalon or HO. Any online guides you can check with?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Pete Horn, currently 459 euros (£322) in Snell Sports (Chamonix). Considerably less than most UK prices I believe.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks, Alan. Important supplementary question - does that include bindings?
The current Southampton offer in £399 including bindings.

Pete Horn, both 'ski set' and 'sport2000' have shops in La Tania. If I were you i'd find out their phone number or website address (should be a link somewhere) and check direct with the shop. I have found ski set particularly helpful in the past.

Andy1, sorry just registered and maybe a bit late but... For quick, efficient ski purchasing, and possibly tax free if you are VAT registered, or have an address in Luxembourg, Switzerland, Andorra (Cayman Islands!) to send them, try www.telemark-pyrenees.com, who have a good range of kit, including alpine and whose prices are in line with Au Vieux Campeur, the (usually) cheapest retailer in the Cham valley.
Happy shopping! By the way Pete Horn, I hate B2s, not stiff enough!!

Each to their own. I'm a bit of a lightweight - 64Kg, and not too aggressive a skier, perhaps that's why they suit me.

In case anyone's interested, I've got a price from 'Ski Higher' in La Tania of €549 for Rossi B2s complete with bindings - about £380.
