Cool pics.
Were there any wide-area shots, to assess how much snow is left on the hillside?

Why, people do it most (all?) years? Missed it this year as I had alternative commitments lower down the hill, but skied midsummer two years ago at Cairngorm. Great fun if the weather is good.

Right, but I didn't know that people do it most years, and I'm surprised at the amount of snow in Britain in June, hence my disbelief.

paulio,
And thats one problem Scottish skiing has, as lots of people, many who live reasonably locally, would say the same for the winter aswell as for June. One particular problem is that the best skiable snow in scotland is late in the season, from late february through well into April, but lots of people lok to ski in January and february, and this is often when scotland may have poor snow.

Yeah, but June.

There always has been snow in summer in parts of Scotland - the Munro clan among others has been granted land in return for the provision of snow on midsummer's day, as for example http://www.clanmunro.org.uk/info8.htm relates.

Hi all
Some more pictures of midsummer's day skiing on my flkr site here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10855010@N08/?saved=1
Great day out, nice to put a few faces to names off the winterhighland forum.
Moving to London on Friday, so it was my last day on the Scottish hills for a while. Need to invest in a season ticket on the sleeper next year.

It would be a good sized fridge, gps measurements gave about 105m of vertical (344ft), 150m plus vertical done on Macdui and the Spring Run on Meall a' Bhuiridh (Glencoe) on mid summers day.
