Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Summer Haute Route

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A few of us have got together to walk the Haute Route Chamonix - Zermatt from 4 to 11 August (8 walking days). There are some places left on this trip. We will be using one or two fantastic guides, depending on numbers. The cost will be shared guiding and hut costs. We will be crossing the glaciers and cols, staying in mountain huts every night except one night in Arolla between the Cabanne de Prafleuri and Cabanne du Bertol. Final night in the Schonbiel Hut. Last day (non-technical)climbing up to Arbenbivac opposite north face of the Matterhorn. Each afternoon there will be optional sessions such as crevasse rescue, mountaineering and navigation skills. Spending a few days in Zermatt before the 4th to acclimatise. No climbing experience necessary, just a love of walking and the mountains. I started the skiing Haute Route with a fear of heights, which was cured! Another person going has never walked this type of terrain. You will need to be very fit to really enjoy the trip (e.g. equivalent to 1 hour's hilly cycling 6 days/week for the last four weeks, plus lots of walking). If you'd like to join us, or more information, please email me at exx@btinternet.com.
