Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Three resorts in the Lake of Geneva region are actively promoting snowshoeing from this winter, with the introduction of new trails for the sport. Those looking for tranquility, fun and something new should head for Chateau-d'Oex, Rougemont and Les Mosses.
56km of new trails are opening in those areas, but other resorts in the area are also involved: Les Diablerets, Leysin and Villars.

[That came from the local tourist authority. The first site seems to be under construction at time of writing. Maybe try the individual tourist offices for info.]

Heading there on Boxing Day. I think winter walking may well be the order of the week - not sure that we'll need the snowshoes though(unless things pick up weather wise of course).
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Can recommend the main hire shop in Les Mosses - Tille Sports (in arcade next to tourist office) - for snow shoes, blades, and any other non-standard pieces of kit. They've been very accommodating whenever someone in the party has fancied an alternative to downhill - if you've booked downhill kit for any length of time, have been known to throw in extras for free. (And better personal experience than with the alternative hire shop in the village)
