Even though it's three or more months away?
I was on the phone to the kids last week...."Check the cams! We have snow!!"
I'm 48 yrs old. I'm supposed to be a mature adult, but I'm like a 7 yr old waiting for xmas when it comes to skiing!

I'm off in 8 days, but I've been checking the webcams and weather at least daily on three different sites for three months now! Sad, really.

I have go a Yahoo webcam widget on my PC's desktop so basically I am connected to the relevant webcams (currently Meribel, Soll and the pyrennees) from 8am till 6pm every week days!

Only 5 weeks to go & not to high altitude, I have resisted looking as I don't want to be worried but it won't be long before I start watching. I remember the first time I went to Tignes & watched the camera in Le Lac centre = little did I know it is a PR tool & there is a snow maker in the main 'square'. Needn't of worried about Tignes but maybe I'm getting too cocky about my snow luck now by opting for Wengen pre Xmas.

Tell your friend, which I completely realise is really not you, that they should go here and install the Yahoo widget application.
Then they should install this particular widget which is the one I use.
However it does not support java based webcams so your friend might be interested in the following other two widgets:
skiis-cam and webimages.
I hope you friend will find this both useful and enjoyable..

I have dreams involving skiing about once a week all through the year. Sometimes they're so realistic it's almost more than I can bear when I wake up

When my daughter did a season for Scott Dunn in Courchevel (no freebies unfortunately) we were phoning her up daily before we went out to see her to get a real version of snow conditions !

alex_heney, that's a sobering photo. A good one to produce when people come up with those daft "Austria always has good early snow" arguments. Alexandra, I have those dreams too. I eventually get up a lift, there's some snow, but I'm in my trainers!

About twice a day when Im on the t'interweb at sixth form and then once in the evenings.
A lovely sight to see mountains, especially when they're snow clad.

It's an obsession. I'm all "ooh, ooh, they've fitted the chairs on the lifts in Pila".

I sadly check them once a day before work aswell as the forecast....when i know snow is forecasted its 3/4 times a day...VERY SAD i know

I booked the holiday on Monday and have checked the webcams and weather reports every day since. I just think its great to see the snow mounting up although La Tania at present is still green!
