Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski pants waist poppers - help needed!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
One of the waist poppers came off my new ski pants at the MSB. I do have a spare, but I can't work out how to fix it on. Anyone know? (And for those guessing...I already know that a hammer is no use! My OH doesn't think our rivet gun will work either).

This photo shows the front and reverse sides of each part of the popper - at the top is the bit which goes on the outside.

This one shows a popper in place:

vetski, Don't you need a special tool for fixing poppers Confused

Available from a haberdasher or craft shop maybe ?

Basicaly, the stalk on the mushroom shaped part goes through the fabric into the back of the socket. The stalk is then opened out using a point that spreads the metal.

vetski, in my experience poppers are dreadful on ski pants, I suggest you get a decent sized hook and eye fastening which can simply be stiched in place, that's what I did to my ski trousers when the ever expanding waistline caused the popper to fail regularly, of course now that I've lost arround 14 inches off my stomach that's no longer a problem, fortunately they also have braces so I won't need to go and buy a new pair just yet

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

vetski, go on a diet ya porker Very Happy

I have found a belt and braces to be the only solution.

vetski, poppers and pies, pies and poppers . . . work out the relationship rolling eyes

If you want new poppers, go to a decent cobbler. Otherwise go the hook and eye route

Frosty the Snowman, Axsman, back off you meeeaaaaannnn boys - speaking as a witness, I can assure you it was a purely mechanical failure.

vetski, if a hammer is no good, it sounds like you need a special tool - you're onto it; its like a rivet gun but especially for poppers (my mum has one but that's in NZ!). A local tailor might be able to help - yellow pages for a phone-around to see who has one?
Good luck, chica.
