Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing in Aviemore

Just returned after a few days in Aviemore staying in a local hotel (Academy) and skiing for a couple of days in the Cairngorms.

I have to say we went since we couldnt afford a foreign ski trip this year and had some reservations about going.

How wrong we were it was a fantastic few days, the kids loved it, ski school for them was very good, weather variable (of course), plenty snow, good atmosphere all round in hotel, on the slopes, etc.

We got a decent DB&B deal the food was great, staff friendly, and they threw in some free tickets to the Loch Ness "attractions".

Driving back down through the highlands was very, very scenic on great twisty empty drivers roads.

I'm wondering if I might snatch a day in Scotland at the end of the week. How are the prospects? Nevis (which I prefer because of the back corries) or Aviemore?
Could anyone up there take friday off to join me?
