Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A suitable replacement for Volkl 5*'s

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm off to VT in a few weeks, and I might accidently buy some skis. I do rather like my Volkl 5*'s - any suggestions for suitable equivalents to try out?

Hoppo, Try the Icelantic's, as a fellow owner of 5*'s, pretty sure you will find the Pilgrims enjoyable, similar feel to the5*'s but with a little bit more width for any foray's into powder.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

spyderjon, couple of weeks a year since I got them from you - I think they're good for another few years yet but HappyMouffe got shiny new Burnin' Luvs and I'm jealous. snowHead

Thanks for the tips - I admired Ski Tecnic and there huge snowHeads banner last year when we were in VT (at least I think it was them).

Somwhere around 90 days use at present, and still in good shape. You are right though, do need to invest soon, hopefully this year, but the house renovation has been eating money, and along with some work issues, this has meant that only managed 8 days so far this season Shocked

Much as I love the High Societies, I wouldn't see them as an equivalent to Volkl 5*'s - very different kind of ski IMO.

 You know it makes sense.

As reported elsewhere I ended up with a pair of Volkl Tigersharks, which are lovely and were carried back from the shop in the manner of religious artifacts snowHead I bought them from Zenith Ski, who were friendly, helpful but not particularly efficient at providing skis to play with - although I did try out the Tigersharks for a few days and compared them against my 5*'s. Other alternatives suggested in resort for the 5*'s included Salomon Tornado, Rossignol Zenith Z9 and Volkl AC3's.

Yes - having gone in to look at them, there was much amusement that these skis had been suggested as a replacement for the 5*s
