Any suggestions on where is good in Glasgow for boot fitting. Back from my holiday, skied 3 days and now want to get a reasonable pair of boots to progress into.

I got mine fitted at ellis brigham at braehead last winter. couple of problems with the footbeds early on but that was sorted with another visit and i can't be happier with my boots. So comfy and fit very snugly.
As with everywhere, it's luck of the draw who you get unless you go in and ask for a specific person who's been recommended to you.
I've heard good things about the older guy in blues in edinburgh... might be worth a trip on the train through.

Blues at Tiso's outdoor centre, Glasgow, ask for Shona. i always phone first to make sure she is working on the day I'm going. If she's not go another day.

I'd second that, Shona knows her stuff.

don't go to ellis brigham-they dont grasp that boots have to pad out and may be too tight for a while.

Before I got educated in the art of boots (some will still argue that I'm clueless) one of the boot fitters tried to fit my narrow feet into a pair of Salomon Missions - which is apparently one of their widest boots. So by the sounds of it, I'll give Blues a go. Are they located at the Outdoor experience across the road from the BMW garage?

The "older guy" in Blues would be Alastair who fully deserves the good things you have heard. I can recommend him without reservation. You should phone and make an appointment - boot fitting takes quite a bit of time.

If you can get through to Edinburgh then try colin in snowlines. Mrs prog99's boots were fitted 7 years ago and she's never had a problem.

Dont think i can agree with this. My cousin in Glasgow has the biggest boot problems ive ever seen or heard of. Blues refused to fit him to boots, and another shop (cant remember the name) put him in the biggest boot in the shop which obviously wasnt right. The Ski Manager at the snowdome fitted his boots and footbeds and did lots of after service and he's never been happier skiing. So im going to stand up for them here!
