Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

just got back from les gets and did some tests and my friends at splery ( vert mont) advised me to test some elan zenmasters . after a day in the powder I had my mind set on them - they are like cadillacs through the crud - great in steep and deep amd fun (ish)on pistes. I was worried that they might be too wide with a TR of 21m and 92mm under foot but I was surprised by how agile they were. they do need strong legs to turn them on piste but they are a very fun feeling. very diffrent to my other skis. I would advise to test them as they are not an easy ski. you really need to work them but the rewards are great. my favourite run on them was on the little off piste to the left of chamossiere, the steep part at the top was an absolute joy. any one concerned that fat skis might not be for them, I would strongly urge you to give them a try . Im a convert to fat twin tips

, how much do you weigh? I take it you had the 185cm ski?
Agreed on the random snow stability and agility when carved.
I think the 'need to work them' has a lot to do with skier size; at 90kg the 185cm were very tame lapdogs with a definite top speed limit. More of a tree skiing ski rather than a twin tip powder ski, the shovel is stiff enough to dive in light fluff at my test weight.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

i got the 185 I weigh about 78kilos I guess my lighter weight might be the cause of having to work them a bit harder

With the crop of fat carvers coming out this style of ski will have a very limited life in the lineup, imo. Wish they had it 4 or 5 years ago.
