I'm going to be in Argentiere for a week starting Wednesday and will probably go to Courmayeur for the day. We will have a car so I presume that's the best way to get there. Any good mountain restaurants, best runs, runs to avoid, best way of getting up to the slopes. That's the sort of stuff we're interested in.

Best mountain restaurant IMO - Maison Vielle. It's on a blue run, I think, but can't remember which. Best to book a table if you want to eat between 12 & 2, as it gets absolutely packed. They put lots of tables outside on sunny days, but watch the weather forecast! Try their mixed pasta dish - you get reduced helpings of, IIRC, 3 different pastas & sauces. The carbonara is to die for!
