Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Serre Chevalier after the most recent dump
After some very warm weather in early March, things are now shaping up for epic late season conditions, with some resorts reporting up to 50cm of new snow in the past 48 hours, with more to come in the next week. Above 1800 metres the ground remains cold enough for this new snow to settle, however in lower resorts the thaw has already set in and it remains to be seen whether this epic dump will re-establish a base... The forecast across much of the alps for the next week is for further storms and snow, with little sign of the blue skies and warm temperatures that have characterised recent weeks.

Of course the downside to all this new snow on a consolidated base means that there will be a high avalanche risk in the coming days, so we ask all our snowHeads and their friends to be super careful out there for the next few days.

Tons of snow in Les Deux Alpes
In France, the snow is good pretty much everywhere. The Three Valleys especially Val Thorens are getting great reports on the forum, as are Tignes and La Rosiere. Chamonix is also fantastic, especially the Grand Massif. Epic conditions are also reported in the Portes du Soleil, as well as Les Deux Alpes, and Serre Chevalier. Montalbert, La Plagne, and Les Arcs are also having great conditions, with skiing down to Bourg St Maurice once again possible this season.

Verbier
In Austria conditions are also very good, having benefited from the recent snow, especially in the Ski Amade region, and the Zillertal valley. St Anton is also very good at alttitude. Switzerland has also had plenty of new snow, especially Verbier although high winds have meant that there is significant variation between windward and leeward slopes. The Pyrenees are also expecting plenty of new snow. Closer to home, the Nevis Range in is reported as having more snow that one regular has ever seen before, so perhaps worth a late easter trip to experience Scottish skiing at it's best.

In North America, Winter Park in Colorado has had plenty of new snow. In Canada Fernie and Whistler have had plenty of fresh powder, although are very busy with the holiday crowds. In
another report Kicking Horse has great snow, but both Sunshine and Lake Louise could do with freshening up.
