Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Is this a Press Pass or something different? Whatever it is, well done and have fun!

PG, brilliant! I'll be there too - just on Saturday 11th (we're leaving Sunday) somewhere in the crowd.

PG, there's sure to be a big contingent from La Ros there, Joel Chenal our local racer is the top rated GS skier for the French, he was 5th overall last year. Give him a cheer.

Fantastic recognition - I think we should be very proud of ourselves

Recognition is all we'll have unless it snows soon! Just talked to a Val instructor, there's no way the downhills could be held unless there's some snowfall before long, speed events are out of the question as things are right now. It's not as if the decision is left until the day before either - FIS will need to know whether to transfer elsewhere in the next few days

And am I right in thinking they make the decision 7-9 days in advance of the event ???

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Something like that, although they can put off the decision when there are 'mitigating circumstances'. But the event itself starts on the Wednesday 8th, practice runs Thurs and Fri, so we're running out of time....

Hi PG, I been away for a few days, but why has this thread suddenly gone quiet when I understand there has been 50cm of snow in the last 24 hours?
The Val d'Isere website shows this picture.

PG, I'll be there with some friends, somehow we didn't notice it was going to be criterium weekend (we/I though it the week after, doh!). What does the VIP status mean?
Thanks,
DM

David Murdoch, it's both - men's events the first weekend, women the following one. If you click on the Val logo at the top, all the info is there.
As I'm not a card-carrying journalist, it was the only pass I could get hold of. Vaguely Illegitimate Press, would about sum me up.
